The CLOVR School of Massage has been established to manage the growing demand for massage therapy education in the Twin Cities, and especially the southern suburbs. The CLOVR School of Massage resides within CLOVR Life Spa in Apple Valley, MN, located off Pilot Knob Road in the Cobblestone Shopping area, and between the main thoroughfares of County Roads 42 and 46. The Cobblestone Lake area is a bustling area of retail and restaurants, and is centrally located with easy access.
CLOVR School of Massage curriculum is a robust 500-hour, Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA)-endorsed program. The Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) accredits both educational institutions and programs offering instruction in massage therapy. The mission of this commission is to establish and maintain the quality and integrity of massage education. With COMTA accreditation, you can feel confident the standards you’re being taught will meet and reflect the national needs of the profession.
Our program will be attractive to students most interested in therapeutic, relaxation, post injury healing, prenatal, reflexology, and trigger point massage, as well as complementary modalities. Our students will most likely work in a spa, clinical setting, resort, or choose to be a solo practitioner.
Our school leadership combined have more than 50 years of massage experience and a decade of teaching experience. That equates to more than 50,000 massages and experience dealing with a multitude of concerns, injuries, and stress. This experience combined with a nationally-endorsed curriculum provides CLOVR School of Massage students with a strong foundation in which to build a solid and successful career as a professional massage therapist.
Our program is currently being offered during the day on Monday-Thursdays, 8:30AM-5PM with a 30 min lunch. Spring term begins Monday, April 14, 2025 runs through mid-August 2025. The 500-hour curriculum includes classroom instruction and clinicals. Our classroom sizes are small and personable with full access to program instructors and guest instructors. For your information, please review and download the admission requirements and student application.
While the practice of massage is not regulated by the state of Minnesota, CLOVR School of Massage will teach and prepare our students to take the MBLEx and to be prepared for licensure in any state students choose to practice the art of massage. As of this year, the MBLEx exam is the only acceptable prerequisite to massage licensure in 44 states and 3 U.S. territories. In the past, other exams and tests have been accepted. However, the MBLEx has now become the standard in the vast majority of states. If you’re looking to become a licensed massage therapist virtually anywhere in the country, the MBLEx is by far your best choice when it comes to a massage licensure exam.
What is the job opportunity outlook for massage therapists? The US Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 20% growth in jobs from 2021 to 2031 (much faster than the average of all occupations). The 2022 median annual wage in the US for massage therapists was $55,530. Massage therapists do not average more than 20 hours per week of massage, many average 15 hours per week.
Many massage therapy programs stumble at the finish line and do not offer much support to graduates for job placement. However, upon successful completion of the CLOVR School of Massage Program, graduates have an opportunity to interview for a massage artist position at CLOVR Life Spa in Apple Valley, a multi-service spa and winner of the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal’s 2022 and 2023 Best Places to Work award.
Our graduates can expect to earn a minimum of $40+ hour (hourly wage/ commission + tips). Massage therapists at CLOVR Life Spa work anywhere from 6 to 20 hours per week (3 or 4-hour shifts, which includes evenings and weekends).
